Excellent article, thanks. There is one minor-but-confusing typo I noticed. You write:

So on the second row you’d say
“1000 calls to aFunction took place originating from caller3″

I suspect that should probably say "caller2" instead.

Their profiler UI leaves quite a lot to be desired, even compared to many other profilers, but the bottom-up view is just perfect and I'd have loved to use it.

Having to keep a pointer to the function and add an expando to it removes some of that convenience and will probably be just too much for most developers.Question might really be whether the problem is causing enough pain to justify introducing a new concept to the language?

Instead of adding a new property like displayName, why not just implement a toString method on your lambda functions?
